We initially contacted Matthew after my husband’s injury, he was so helpful and gave us all the information about my husband’s workers comp situation, he took the time and explained where my husband was at with his claim and what we needed to do moving forward. I was referred to Garling & Co Lawyers, after previously retaining another law firm who failed to progress my matter for a period verging on three years.This was extremely frustrating and damaging, causing me a lot of unnecessary stress and unreasonable delays. I had an occupational accident for 2 years and after the surgery for a whole year there was no good result and my body was in so much pain that I could not return to work. Everyone told me to find a lawyer immediately, I did not know which lawyer could help me so I searched on Google. After searching I found that many clients were very satisfied with Garling & Co, so I texted Garling & Co. They immediately called back and asked if I felt pain and could not come to the office, they would come to see me but I replied that I could come. And the legal journey started from there. I met Mr. Garling who was about my age but very enthusiastic and dedicated and he explained and advised me in a way that I could understand all the questions and I agreed with him very much, then he handed over my case to Ms. Allison to contact me. Everything went very well according to his arrangements from the first step to the last step. Until the last day, he explained how the negotiation was going and I understood the whole story. I did not ask for too much and the number I gave was quickly agreed to avoid lengthy legal headaches. In total, after 4 years of the accident and almost 2 years with the help of Garling & Co, everything was resolved happily for all parties. I engaged with Garling and Co to assist me for my weekly payment dispute with the insurance. I was upset with Natasha, as she didn't prepare me to the worse outcome or told me about the kind of negotiation in the hearing. I assumed that as a Lawyer she should have an experience with the process or the way to solve the case. Even though I asked her what should I do or what would be happened in the hearing a week before but she didn't mentioned anything, and told me not do anything. But in the hearing she and the Barrister only gave me less than 5 minutes to make decision and pushed me to accept the disappointed outcome and what she said in the hearing totally different with what she said earlier. I don't trust her at all, her words is not consistent.I would like to express my appreciation to Matthew Garling who had stepped in to handle my weekly payment issue with the insurance. He is very professional, knowledgeable, easy to talk to and very humble. My disappointment earlier has melted away by his kindness and caring to resolve my issue which has came out the great outcome. Work cover fund is GOVT’S money but insurer think that it is from their 14th generation. So only they can have it. Not only that, people from the work, IME doctor from insurer, back to work coordinator from work, Rehab provider from any side push the worker as hard as possible that the worker (doesn’t matter how the workers mental or psychical condition) either go back to his pre injury duty or leave the job.More over on that very bumpy any difficult journey some of them only treat the worker as a MONEY MAKING MECHINE .in some point worker feels like, no rooms to breath. On that moment need someone to support legally, someone to care, someone to relive.On my case I believe that, somehow, I manage to make my God happy. Legal Costs
Legal Costs are costs that are incurred in preparing your claim. These include costs in preparation of settlement or a Court hearing and consist of the following type of costs.
1. Professional fees – these are the legal fees charged by this firm for the work that we do in preparation of your claim.
2. Barrister fees – these are the costs charged by a barrister if one is retained in your claim.
3. Disbursements – this is the money we pay out to others on your behalf in preparation of your claim and would include the cost of medical records, medical reports, expert reports, court filing fees, process service fees, photocopying and like charges.
No Win No Fee Guarantee
Our “No Win, No Fee Guarantee” means that you do not pay any professional fees, barrister fees or disbursements to our firm if your claim for compensation is unsuccessful.
If we do not win your case and you do not receive any compensation, you will not pay us any legal costs.
We make this guarantee because we WIN 99% of our client’s claims.
Maximum Fee Guarantee
If your claim resolves prior to a Court hearing, we will cap our professional fees to no more then 35% (not including GST) of your settlement amount. This means that if the result is not as good as we hoped, not all your compensation will be paid in legal costs. There are no surprises when your claim is resolved.
This does not mean we charge 35% of what you receive, rather it means that if our professional fees are more than 35% of your settlement amount, you will be charged the lesser amount.
We guarantee our professional fees will not exceed 35% (exclusive of GST) of your total settlement amount if your claim settles at least 30 days prior to a Court hearing.
Accredited Specialist Guarantee
We guarantee your case will be managed by a lawyer who is an Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law. An Accredited Specialist is recognised by The Law Society of NSW as the most highly qualified lawyer that can represent you in your claim. An Accredited Specialist in Personal Injury Law is the lawyer that will get the best result in your claim.
